Best time of year for a team offsite in Kabini
Kabini is about 220 kilometres from Bangalore, roughly a four to five hour drive. The experience changes quite a bit depending on when you go, so the season matters more here than at most offsite destinations.
Get a proposalOctober to February: The most reliable window
This is the period most Bangalore teams choose, and for good reason. Weather is dry, temperatures sit between 18 and 28 degrees Celsius, and the forest is active. Wildlife sightings at the reservoir are frequent, so if your team wants jeep safaris or boat rides, this window delivers consistently. Bookings at the better properties fill up fast from November onward, especially around long weekends. If your dates fall anywhere near a public holiday, expect to pay a premium and plan at least six to eight weeks ahead.
March to May: Hot but workable if you plan around it
Temperatures climb to 35 to 40 degrees Celsius by April and May. That rules out any outdoor activity between 11 am and 4 pm, but early morning safaris are actually excellent because the dry conditions bring animals close to the water. Properties with good pool access and shaded outdoor spaces become important in this window. Rates are softer than the peak season, and availability is easier. If your group is fine with an adjusted schedule, a March or early April offsite can work out well and cost less.
June to August: Monsoon, limited access, lower footfall
The rains arrive in June and the forest reserve typically restricts or closes safari access through parts of the monsoon. Check the exact status of Nagarhole National Park safari permits before you commit to dates in this period. The landscape is green and the property rates drop noticeably, but outdoor programming options shrink. For a group that mainly wants accommodation, meals, team sessions indoors, and a relaxed setting, the monsoon months can work. Just do not build the agenda around wildlife or outdoor activities.
September: The transition month
September sits between monsoon and the dry season. The forest starts reopening, the greenery from the rains is still visible, and temperatures are comfortable. Availability at properties is relatively open and rates have not yet climbed to peak levels. It is a practical window if October is booked out or if your budget needs a little room. Safari access is usually partially restored by mid-September, though it is worth confirming with the property before you finalise the agenda.

Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should we book a Kabini offsite?
For October to February dates, book at least six to eight weeks out. Properties with private cottages and dedicated conference space fill up quickly once the season starts, especially for groups of 20 or more.
Which properties have proper facilities for corporate groups?
A few resorts around the Kabini reservoir have conference rooms, team activity coordinators, and accommodation that can handle groups of 15 to 50 people. Treemonks can shortlist options based on your group size, budget, and the kind of agenda you have in mind.
Is a day trip to Kabini from Bangalore practical for a team outing?
It is technically possible but not recommended. The drive takes four to five hours each way, which leaves very little usable time at the destination. A minimum of two nights gives your team enough time to actually settle in and benefit from being there.
Are safaris guaranteed during the peak season?
Safari permits inside Nagarhole National Park are limited by the forest department and are not guaranteed even in peak season. Your property or a local operator needs to secure permits in advance. Treemonks coordinates this as part of the offsite planning so you are not chasing it separately.
