Offsites in Kanakapura for large teams (100+)
Kanakapura is about 60 to 70 km from central Bangalore, roughly 90 minutes by road on a clear day. It works well for large-group offsites because the area has several properties built for exactly this scale. If your team is 100 or more, here is what you need to know before you book.

Most resorts in the Kanakapura belt have a mix of dormitory blocks, cottages and large banquet or lawn spaces. You are looking for properties with at least 50 to 60 rooms or beds, a conference hall that seats your full group, and outdoor space for activities. Capacity at the bigger properties goes up to 250 to 300 guests for residential stays. Confirm these three things before signing anything: total bed count, the size of the main hall in square feet, and whether the lawn can take a shamiana or marquee. Some properties look large online but split their capacity across two separate zones, which creates logistics headaches for a single large team.
Getting 100-plus people there without chaos
Chartering 3 to 4 AC buses from Bangalore is the standard approach. A 45-seater bus hired for a day trip typically costs somewhere in the range of 8,000 to 12,000 rupees depending on the operator and pick-up points. Fix one or two collection points in the city rather than door-to-door pick-up. It keeps departure times predictable. For a residential offsite, stagger arrival by department if you can. A hundred people checking in at the same time will overwhelm even a well-staffed property. Brief the venue in advance on your arrival sequence.
Activities that actually work at this scale
Large-group activities need to be broken into smaller parallel tracks. Think 8 to 10 teams of 10 to 12 each running concurrent stations rather than one activity for the whole group at once. Cricket, volleyball and relay formats work on open lawns. For structured team-building, a facilitator-led session divided into batches keeps energy up without the chaos of managing 100 people in one go. Kanakapura also has options for river rafting at Bheemeshwari and nature walks near Galibore. These work better as optional add-ons for smaller sub-groups rather than a compulsory activity for the entire team.
Budget benchmarks for a large group
For a day outing with meals and activities, a reasonable per-head cost at a decent property is somewhere between 2,500 and 4,500 rupees. For a residential offsite of one night and two days with accommodation, meals and basic activities, expect 5,500 to 9,000 rupees per head depending on the property tier and meal plan. These numbers shift based on season. October to February is peak and properties hold firm on pricing. April to June sees softer rates but the heat limits outdoor activity time. Get quotes from at least three properties and ask specifically what is included in the per-head rate versus what is billed extra.

Frequently asked questions
How early should we book for a group of 100 or more?
At least 6 to 8 weeks in advance for a weekend date in peak season. Some of the larger properties get blocked by other corporate groups months ahead. Weekday offsites give you more flexibility and often better rates.
Can Kanakapura venues manage dietary requirements for a large group?
Most established resorts handle a standard mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals without issue. For specific requirements like Jain food, gluten-free or allergy-based menus, confirm in writing with the catering team at least two weeks before the event. Do not assume they will manage it on the day.
Is Kanakapura a good choice compared to Nandi Hills or Coorg for a large group?
Kanakapura is closer, which reduces travel time and bus costs considerably. Coorg is better suited to smaller groups who want a more experiential trip. Nandi Hills has limited large-venue options. For a straight-forward, cost-efficient large-group offsite, Kanakapura is usually the practical choice.
What is usually not included in a resort's per-head quote?
Activity facilitators, adventure equipment, DJ or sound systems, decor, and alcohol are almost always billed separately. Some properties also charge extra for use of their conference AV equipment. Ask for a full inclusions and exclusions list before you compare quotes across venues.
