A 2-3 day team offsite itinerary for Madikeri
Madikeri is around 5 to 6 hours from Bangalore by road, depending on your departure point and traffic near Mysuru. It gives you enough distance from the office to actually disconnect, without burning a full day just on travel.

Most Bangalore teams leave early Friday morning, around 6 to 7 AM, to reach Madikeri by early afternoon. Private tempo travellers or a small coach fleet works well for groups of 15 to 40 people. Book through a Bangalore-based vehicle operator and confirm the route goes via Mysuru for the smoothest drive. Stay options range from estate bungalows with full buyout to mid-scale resorts near Raja's Seat or along the Galibeedu road. Full buyout properties give you better control over meals, noise levels and activity scheduling. Budget roughly INR 4,000 to 8,000 per person per night for a decent property with meals, depending on the season and group size.
Day 1: Arrival and Afternoon Wind-Down
Check in, have lunch, then keep the first afternoon light. A short guided walk through a coffee or pepper estate takes about 90 minutes and costs very little if arranged through the property. It gets people off their phones without feeling like a forced activity. Evening works well for an outdoor team dinner. Ask the property to set up a bonfire if the weather permits, October to February is the reliable window for that. Save the formal team session for Day 2 when people are rested.
Day 2: Core Activities and Team Session
Block the morning for your structured team session, two to three hours maximum. Outdoor venues at most estates can seat 30 to 50 people comfortably. After lunch, run an activity, white water rafting on the Barapole river near Galibeedu is the most popular choice and suits most fitness levels. The rafting stretch takes about 45 minutes on the water and the operator usually handles transport. Alternatives if rafting is not suitable for your group: a cooking session using local Coorg ingredients, a trek to Abbey Falls, or a cycling loop around the estate. These can be arranged 10 to 15 days in advance through local operators. Treemonks can coordinate this as part of the overall package.
Day 3: Local Sightseeing and Return
Keep Day 3 short and optional. Raja's Seat, Omkareshwara Temple and the Madikeri Fort are all within the town and can be covered in two hours. This works if your team wants a cultural element without extending the trip significantly. Start the return drive no later than 1 PM on Day 3 to avoid reaching Bangalore after 8 PM. Friday returns are harder because of Mysuru highway traffic. If your offsite runs Saturday to Monday, the return on Monday afternoon is generally cleaner.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best time of year for a Madikeri offsite from Bangalore?
October to February is the most reliable window. The weather is cool and dry, estates look good after the monsoon and outdoor activities run without interruption. Avoid June to September unless your team is comfortable with heavy rain and limited outdoor options.
How many people does a typical Madikeri offsite property accommodate?
Most full-buyout estate bungalows accommodate 20 to 40 guests. Larger resorts can take 60 to 100 people but you may be sharing the property with other groups. If privacy matters for your offsite, a full buyout is worth the extra cost.
What is a rough per-person budget for a 2 night Madikeri offsite?
For a group of 25 to 40 people, plan for INR 12,000 to 18,000 per person for two nights covering transport from Bangalore, accommodation, meals and one or two activities. Costs vary based on property category, vehicle type and activities chosen. Treemonks can give you a firmer number once the group size and dates are confirmed.
Do we need to book activities separately from the resort?
Usually yes, most properties do not run activities in-house beyond basic estate walks. Rafting, cycling and guided treks are handled by local operators who need at least a week's notice, ideally more in peak season. Treemonks coordinates these bookings as part of the offsite package so you are not chasing multiple vendors yourself.
