One-day team outing options in Yelagiri

Most teams leave Bangalore between 6 and 6.30 am, reach Yelagiri by 9.30 to 10 am, and are back in the city by 9 pm. The NH48 to Hosur and then the state highway up to Yelagiri is the standard route. The final ghat section is about 14 km with 16 hairpin bends, so bus drivers need to be familiar with it. We recommend chartered AC coaches for groups. Cabs work for smaller teams of 10 to 15 people. Avoid scheduling this outing on long weekends. The ghat road gets congested and the few good properties get booked out fast.

Yelagiri has enough for a full day outdoors. Paragliding at Swamimalai Hill is the most popular activity. Slots are limited so booking in advance is non-negotiable, especially for large groups. Nature walks around Punganur Lake, boating, and a short trek to Jalagamparai Waterfall are quieter options that work well as parallel tracks if you are running a multi-activity day. For team building with some structure, we can arrange facilitated outdoor games and low-ropes activities at resorts that have dedicated lawns. A few properties near the town centre have space for 50 to 100 people on the ground.

Lunch is typically arranged at one of the larger resorts. Full catering packages with a fixed menu, including South Indian and North Indian options, are available from most properties. Expect to pay somewhere in the range of INR 600 to 900 per head for a decent sit-down lunch with starters, main course and dessert, though pricing varies by property and group size. Breakfast on arrival and evening snacks before departure can usually be bundled into the same package. If your group has dietary requirements, give at least a week's notice to the venue.

Yelagiri works best for teams that want a relaxed day out with light activity and good weather. It is not the right choice if your team wants high-adrenaline adventure sports beyond paragliding, a large conference setup, or premium accommodation for an overnight stay. Group sizes of 30 to 80 tend to work most smoothly here. Very large groups above 120 can be accommodated but require more coordination across venues and activity providers.
