Best time of year for a team offsite in Hassan
Hassan is about 190 km from Bangalore, roughly 3.5 to 4 hours by road. The weather and crowd situation vary quite a bit across the year, and picking the wrong month can mean rain-soaked outdoor sessions or inflated resort rates. Here is what each season actually looks like.
Get a proposalOctober to February: The reliable window
This is when Hassan performs best for corporate groups. Temperatures stay between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius, mornings are cool, and you get dry days consistently enough to plan outdoor activities without a backup plan every hour. Belur, Halebidu and Shravanabelagola are all accessible and pleasant. Resort rates are at their highest during this window, particularly around December and January when Bangalore companies tend to book in bulk. If your dates are flexible, October and February give you almost the same weather with noticeably better pricing and fewer competing groups at the properties.
March to May: Workable but warm
Temperatures climb into the low to mid 30s by April and May. It is not the most comfortable for anything physically active outdoors, but indoor offsite formats, strategy workshops and half-day heritage visits in the early morning still work fine. Properties have better availability and rates are softer than peak season. If your team is mainly looking for a change of scene and the programme is mostly indoors, this window is underrated. Just avoid scheduling anything outside between 11 am and 4 pm.
June to August: Monsoon, proceed with caution
Hassan gets a steady monsoon, and the countryside around it turns genuinely green. Some groups like this for the aesthetic. The practical side is less straightforward. Road conditions on the Bangalore to Hassan highway can slow your travel time, outdoor activities need contingency plans, and a few smaller properties reduce operations or close for maintenance. If your team is small, flexible and the offsite is more relaxed retreat than structured programme, a July trip can work well and rates are at their lowest. For larger groups with tight schedules, this is the season to avoid.
September: A reasonable middle ground
The tail end of the monsoon. Hassan still sees some rain in September but it is lighter and more intermittent than July or August. Landscapes are still green, resort rates have not yet jumped to peak levels, and road conditions are generally fine. This month suits companies that want the post-rain freshness without fully committing to monsoon risk. Activity planning needs a bit of flexibility but most outdoor sessions can be managed with a short weather window built into the schedule.

Frequently asked questions
Which month has the best combination of weather and value for money?
October is the strongest month overall. Weather is comfortable, the post-monsoon greenery is still visible, and rates have not yet reached December or January peaks. February is a close second for the same reasons.
Are Hassan resorts significantly more expensive in December and January?
Yes, noticeably so. Many properties see rates go up by 20 to 40 percent compared to the shoulder months, and availability fills up faster because Bangalore-based companies tend to cluster their year-end and new-year offsites in this window. Booking 6 to 8 weeks in advance is advisable if your dates fall here.
Can we do the Belur and Halebidu heritage visit in any season?
The temples are open year round. In the monsoon the surrounding area can get muddy and a morning visit may get interrupted by rain. The October to February window is the most practical for a comfortable heritage tour as part of the offsite itinerary.
How long should we budget for travel from Bangalore to Hassan?
Plan for 3.5 to 4 hours by road under normal conditions. During the monsoon, add another 30 to 45 minutes as a buffer. An early Friday morning departure from Bangalore avoids most of the city traffic and gets your group to the property in time for a post-lunch start.
